So looking at the list of 7 1/2 habits of highly successful lifelong learners, I think the easiest habit for me is #2, accepting responsibility for my own learning. That's pretty obvious, isn't it? If I don't do it, no one else will. Of course, most of the time the lightbulb goes off after the fact when it's one of those "life lessons" but generally I take responsibility for my own development - both personally and professionally. Still, I'd like someone else to learn to ski and do trapeze for me - ain't no way in hell you'll get me doing either of those (though I'd love to know how!).
Believe it or not, sometimes habit 7 1/2 is the hardest for me. That's right, playing. I am just so busy and have so many responsibilities and so much to keep track of that it's often difficult to shut off the to-do list in my brain and just have fun. But having little kids (the reason for most of my busyness) also ensures plenty of sprawled-on-the-floor, rolling around, laughingly good times. So, thank you Zachary and Sarah. :)
